NEW YORK (AP) — While Trey Anastasio is highly revered by a large, devout fan base, it takes a little more to impress his teenage daughters, more specifically, a Tony nomination.

"They were completely unimpressed with the rock thing. Not impressed at all. This was huge for them," the 48-year-old Phish frontman said on the red carpet of the Tony Awards.

Anastasio, and wife, Susan, say their daughters Eliza and Isabella are huge musical theater fans.

Anastasio composed the music to the defunct Broadway musical, "Hands on a Hardbody." Though the show closed before the Tony nominations, it was honored with three nods, including one for Anastasio's original score.

When asked if the girls say their dad is Trey Anastasio when getting autographs, he joked: "Broadway composer. Trey Anastasio, Broadway composer."
