WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

Guns N' Roses founding member Axl Rose had a message for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which will hold its induction ceremony in Cleveland on Saturday without him. "I strongly request that I not be inducted in absentia and please know that no one is authorized nor may anyone be permitted to accept any induction for me," Rose wrote in a letter unveiled on Pop & Hiss. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame heard Rose's declaration and responded: "We are sorry Axl will not be able to accept his Induction in person." So ... that settles that? Probably not, as the spokeswoman noted that "other members" of the band are still on the guest list. We'll find out Saturday.

BRAD PUTS A RING ON IT

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been together since 2005, and they finally got engaged. Why, you may ask? We'll have to wait for them to say, but Jolie said in the past that they would wed if the kids asked, and Pitt told CBS News in January: "We're getting a lot of pressure from the kids." The couple have six children: Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 7, Shiloh, 5, and twins Knox and Viv.

MEL GIBSON VERSUS JOE ESZTERHAS

Mel Gibson and screenwriter Joe Eszterhas got into a war of words after Warner Bros. announced Wednesday that it would not go forward with their film about Jewish warrior Judah Maccabee. The "Basic Instinct" and "Showgirls" writer wasn't too pleased, and he penned a nine-page letter to Gibson that denounced the actor-director as an anti-Semite and anger-filled madman who used the Maccabees project as a way to help inoculate himself from charges of being biased against Jews. Gibson fired back in a letter of his own, saying that the great majority of allegations in the Eszterhas letter were "utter fabrications" and bad-mouthing Eszterhas' script.

TITANIC NUDE SCENE:ELLEN IN, KATE OUT

Looks as if Ellen DeGeneres was feeling a bit left out of "Titanic 3D" -- because on Monday she inserted herself smack in the middle of the nude scene featuring Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio and that big blue diamond. Meanwhile in China, filmgoers didn't get to see the famous scene after censors deemed it inappropriate. "I've been waiting almost 15 years, and not for the 3-D icebergs," said one microblogger.

BAN COUTNEY LOVE FROM TWITTER?

Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love's daughter Frances Bean Cobain said that "Twitter should ban my mother" after Love recently tweeted posts alleging that former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl had a physical relationship with Frances Bean. "While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn," Frances Bean Cobain said Thursday. "I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy." Grohl, through his spokesman, said, "Unfortunately Courtney is on another hateful twitter rant. These new accusations are upsetting, offensive and absolutely untrue."

AMANDA BYNES NOT A DRINKER, DAD SAYS

Amanda Bynes wasn't drunk when she was arrested the previous week on suspicion of DUI, according to her dad, who also said that she wasn't to blame for the fender-bender that preceded her arrest. "I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer," Rick Bynes told People, explaining that Amanda wasn't drunk and does not drink. She was arrested because she was upset and emotional, he said, adding that the arresting officer had pulled out in front of her when she was about to turn and caused the accident.

ALSO, HE LIKES TO ROCK

Johnny Depp has a taste for rock and the macabre, so it makes perfect sense that he joined Marilyn Manson to perform at the Revolver Golden Gods Awards at Club Nokia on Wednesday night. Manson reportedly introduced him as "my personal savior, my personal guitar hero," and even though we don't know the details, the praise doesn't come completely out of left field. Depp has a history of collaborating with veteran rockers including Pearl Jam, Oasis and Alice Cooper.

ALEC BALDWIN TWEETS AGAIN

Genevieve Sabourin, the Canadian woman accused of aggravated stalking and harassing Alec Baldwin, was arraigned Monday in New York City, and Baldwin on Tuesday had something to say regarding recent events -- on Twitter, of course. "Isn't it odd when an accused stalker is in handcuffs," the "30 Rock" actor tweeted, "being taken away by the cops, yet smiles for the cameras?" It also emerged via the New York Post that she and Baldwin had dinner two years ago, something sources close to the actor said was "strictly professional" -- though Sabourin claimed the relationship was mutual and sexual.

THOMAS KINKADE: WHAT HAPPENED?

Artist Thomas Kinkade had been battling alcoholism for years and apparently suffered a relapse just before his unexpected death April 6. Kinkade's brother Patrick told the San Jose Mercury News in a story Thursday that years of personal attacks on the painter and a split from his wife and four daughters wore Kinkade down. That led to his battle with alcoholism over the past four to five years. As The Times reported earlier this week, Kinkade had a huge popular following, but critics were harsh, lambasting his paintings as well as his mass-market business techniques.

´MILLIONAIRE MATCHMAKER´BACHELOR PLEADS GUILTY

Reality TV rarely reflects reality, but it doesn't usually result in criminal charges. But a former bachelor who appeared on the Bravo reality series "The Millionaire Matchmaker" in 2009 is not only not a millionaire, turns out he's also a scam artist. Michael Anthony Prozer III, above, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail, wire and bank fraud this week, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal. A Maryland banker, Fedor Stanley Salinas, who helped Prozer by faking bank statements to make the fraudster appear wealthy, also pleaded guilty. In addition, Prozer pleaded guilty to making a false statement to a financial institution, according to a U.S. attorney.
