Angelina Jolie makes her first field visit since being appointed Special Envoy of UNHCR High Commissioner Antonio Guterres on Sunday (April 22) in Berrancabermeja, Ecuador.
The 36-year-old actress met with residents in a village located on the banks of the San Miguel border. The isolated location makes them vulnerable to the Colombian conflict and limits their access to rights.
Angelina was on hand to assess the current situation for refugees.
She also met with a man named Plinio, who is growing beans as part of an agricultural project supported by UNHCR to encourage self sufficiency and improve nutrition in the community.
The field visit comes a day after Angie and fiance Brad Pitt jetted to the Galapagos Islands with their kids.
