LOS ANGELES - James Cameron and Mark Burnett are joining forces for a new television series called "Robogeddon," Discovery announced at its upfront presentation Thursday.

The series from Oscar-winning director Cameron and reality TV mastermind Burnett will feature mechanical robots fighting, as on the Comedy Central show "BattleBots."

That isn't the only upcoming Discovery series that Burnett will be taking part in. The "Survivor" producer, who made "Sarah Palin's Alaska," will once again explore the state for a new series on Discovery.

Announced at Discovery Communications' upfront presentation this week, "Mark Burnett's Alaska" will follow Burnett's quest to chronicle "the colorful people, amazing history and unforgettable places that make Alaska a world apart."

A trio of other new Discovery series were also announced including "Fast and Loud," featuring self-professed "petrol-sexual" Richard Rawlings and Aaron Kaufmann of the Gas Monkey Garage as they search for old rust-buckets to buy on the cheap and refurbish for sale.
